The vice-president of the Chamber of Doctors of Kosovo, Naser Gjonbalaj, announced that until now, 173 doctors have fled from Kosovo.
“It falls to 70.06% of those who have graduated and obtained a license in the Chamber of Physicians”, he said.
Gjonbalaj emphasized that the main issue of doctors leaving is that of salaries.
Asked if increasing salaries solves all problems in health, Gjonbalaj said that “It doesn’t solve all problems, but it brings opportunities”.
Gjonbalaj, says that the departure of doctors from Kosovo is a growing trend.
He says that the flight of doctors and the constant absence are very disturbing. According to Gjonbalaj, if there is a shortage of professionals, the waiting list will be extended.
