Këto ditë po flitet kaq shumë për vizitën e presidentit amerikan, Barack Obama në Kubë. Por siç ndodh zakonisht, nuk ka një lajm ku të mos ketë shqiptarë.

Reuters raporton se vila në Havana, ku kaloi dy netët Barack Obama dhe familja e tij, i ka mbijetuar luftës, revolucionit dhe një pushtimi shqiptar.

“Tanimë që lidhjet diplomatike SHBA-Kubë janë rikthyer, rezidenca ambasadoriale po rishfaqet si një qendër e ndikimit në ishullin komunist,” shkruan Reuters.

Vila u ndërtua nga viti 1939 deri në vitin 1942. Godina me dy kate është sa gjysma e Shtëpisë së Bardhë. Ajo është ndërtuar me materiale fine.

Por çfarë nënkupton Reuters me pushtim shqiptar?

Në shkrim nuk jepen detaje, por thuhet se SHBA e braktisi këtë godinë nga viti 1961 deri në vitin 1977 pas revolucionit kubanez.

Reuters shkruan se godina u bë fillimisht shtëpi e shqiptarëve, më pas u mor nën kujdesin e zviceranëve.Ajo që dihet është se ambasadori zviceran u ngarkua nga amerikanët që të përgjigjej për ambasadën e tyre.

Disa herë tentuan kubanezët që të shtetëzojnë ambasadën, por nuk ia dolën. “Kjo ishte një vilë e ndërtuar për të bërë përshtypje,” thotë John Caulfield, që ka qenë diplomati kryesor i SHBA për Kubën nga viti 2011 deri në vitin 2014. /mapo.al
