The lack of qualified workers and their departure from the country have made businessmen look at the possibilities of getting workers from Pakistan and Indonesia.

Producers require institutions to focus on professional training in the productive sectors. Minister Rozeta Hajdari says that this issue is a priority of the government and that there should be more cooperation between the public and private sectors.

Njazi Musliu is the owner of the steel constructions factory, which exports all its production to many countries of the European Union, but not only. Although there are about 80 employees, he says that one of the biggest problems he faces is the lack of professional workers. As a result of this situation and the disconnection between the private sector and educational institutions, from next year he claims that he will receive workers from Pakistan and Indonesia.

“We are in negotiations with some Turkish companies which are bringing workers from Indonesia and Pakistan as well. I am thinking of arranging a shelter for them. Next year we have the opportunity to employ up to 50 workers”, said Musliu.

“You know that in the last 20 years we have had many interventions and collaborations in professional education, but if we do not have the private sector engaged and very proactive, we will not have alignment of profiles with market needs. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is showing this in every report, but also the Ministry of Industry through analyzes of the processing sector where many profiles suffer in order to have more engineers from the three or four profiles who are only from high school or not. let’s talk about the high level”, said Hajdari.

In Kosovo, although there are actions and new profiles have been opened in 4 professional schools, such as hairdressing, masonry and hotel, businessmen are looking for such focus and coordination in the productive sectors.
