The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, wrote a status on Facebook where he was not spared at all in praising himself and his government for growth and economic progress in Kosovo.
According to Prime Minister Kurti, the government has offered great support to businesses in Kosovo and has also increased exports and the number of employees, writes lajmi.net.
“Exports during the January-September 2022 period are 25.6% higher compared to the same period last year. The average annual growth of exports during the period January-September of the years 2008-2020 is 15.7%, while the average growth of exports in the same period of the last two years during our government is 47.3%. So, with our Government, exports in this period have grown three times faster than compared to the years when the previous governments were in charge. The increase in export undoubtedly also means an increase in economic activity and employment in the country,” said Kurti.
He even sees the number of workers registered by companies in Kosovo for this.
“Economic progress is neither a guess nor a coincidence. It is the result of proper policies and good governance. The figures and indicators above are our testimony to this,” Kurti said.
This is his post:
Economic progress of Kosovo
Economic growth because this is our vision. Support local businesses because that’s the way to make it happen.
Through the Economic Revival Package, Measure 2.1, we subsidized 20% of the loan principal for manufacturing and processing businesses. This measure is worth 15 million euros in direct support that has enabled 207 businesses to invest over 87 million euros in capacity expansion.
With Measure 2.4 we provided support for staff training, product branding and support for fairs abroad to find new markets. Support from which 75 businesses benefited.
So, we have helped our local businesses to expand their production and processing capacities in order to increase local production, employment and export.
The export during the period January-September 2022 is 25.6% higher compared to the same period last year. The average annual growth of exports during the period January-September of the years 2008-2020 is 15.7%, while the average growth of exports in the same period of the last two years during our government is 47.3%. So, with our Government, exports in this period have grown three times faster than compared to the years when the previous governments were in charge.
The increase in export undoubtedly also means an increase in economic activity and employment in the country.
The turnover of businesses for the period January-August 2022 has increased by 21.6% compared to the same period of 2021 and 67.9% compared to 2020.
As a result, in 2021 we had 25 thousand more jobs registered than the predecessor, and from January to August of this year we have 15 thousand more jobs.
In addition to direct aid with subsidies, we are helping our businesses by reducing the cost of doing business.
We closed the year 2021 with the opening of the state customs terminal in Mitrovica. This year, we turned the customs terminal in Podujevo into a state one. Likewise, we will continue with the opening of the state customs terminal in Vermica.
And this week, the customs clearance of goods at the Port of Durrës began. This will reduce the costs for businesses and consumers by about 2 million euros, as well as the customs clearance time.
Foreign direct investments in Kosovo continue to grow during our government. In the January-July period of this year, the value of foreign direct investments has exceeded the value of 400 million euros. So, 47% more compared to the same period of 2021 and 99% more than in 2020.
Economic progress is neither a guess nor a coincidence. It is the result of proper policies and good governance. The figures and indicators above are our testimony to this. /Lajmi.net/
