Njëzet vite më parë, në një festë të madhe, Microsoft lansoi Windows 95, sistemin e ri operativ.

Lansimi u nis nga një fushatë 300 milionë dollarësh, që përfshinte tregimin e karakteristikave të reja. Reklamat për Windows 95 luheshin me këngën e Rolling Stones “Start me Up”, duke prezantuar butonin tani ikonik ‘Start’.

Përveç butonit Start, Windows 95 prezantoi edhe shiritin e detyrave. Shumë dyqane elektronike mbetën hapur deri në mesnatë për lansimin e produktit, me mijëra njerëz që prisnin në radhë për të marrë i pari në duar sistemin e ri operativ, transmeton Lajmi.net.

Lansimi ishte një sukses i jashtëzakonshëm për Microsoft. Microsoft shiti 7 milionë kopje në vetëm 5 javët e para, dhe Windows 95 u bë së shpejti sistemi operativ më i popullarizuar në treg.

Kërkesat kompjuterike për ta instaluar këtë sistem ishin: 4MB RAM dhe 55MB hapësirë në disk.
